Meet Kit - the 6th member of our family! Kit comes pretty much everywhere we go. She has been to St. George, California, preschool...wherever Katelyn goes, she goes! Katelyn loves her little American Girl doll so much that she had to do a party for her! It was a pretty simple party - just little cousins came! We had so much fun!

Tate and Wade being good little boys - very unusual!!
We played a little question and answer game just for fun and Paige took it very seriously. I think she thought it was a serious quiz, she was a little frazzled!
The girls made their own little journals

The party loot with Katelyn's little journal. Sidenote: If you are looking to buy me a Christmas present we could really use a nice camera. Ours can't even take a decent one of a gift box!

That evening we went to Christmas Village and then to Kobe. The kids loved the fire and the volcano there - it was a fun filled day!

Happy Birthday To Our Little Girl!!
Today is Katelyn's 5th Birthday! Holy Moly, the time has flown by so fast! She is definitely my most favorite girl in the entire world. I cannot even tell you how much I love her. She is the happiest sweetest little thing and we are so lucky to have her in our family - I can't imagine life without her. It will be a fun filled day with an American Girl Party. I tried to get out of a party this year, but she started planning it herself 6 months ago - girls love to party! Happy Birthday Sweet Katelyn! Here are some of my favorite pictures of the past 5 years!

announcing Ty Preston Steel

Well last Monday, November 23, Ty Preston Steel was born at 5:01 PM weighing 7 lbs 3 oz. Here is a quick story of the day - Warning, you probably shouldn't read this if you are thinking of maybe going "Natural" one day. We went in on Monday morning for a schedule induction. Everything was going great until I got to about a 5 and asked for an epidural. The anesthesiologist came in and told me he couldn't do one because the blood clot medicine dose I was on was too much and would be too dangerous. So anyways, we all kinda freaked out, and they took me off the petocin to slow down the labor and ease the contractions a little. I didn't really plan on this so I didn't really know about any hypnobirthing or la mas, so I tried my best to get through the pain. Then the nurse came in with some sort of pain medicine and it made me crazy and I fainted like 5 times and thought I was having a heart attack and going blind. Then she tried another one and the results were passing out a few more times. I was so so exhausted and in serious pain! But I did manage to get him out, with a few screams, curse words, and crying! Poor Preston, my mom and sister had to witness the madness and are probably still in shock! It seriously was so horrible, WAY worse than I thought it would be. The whole time I wanted to kick my doctor in the nose for not prescribing the right medicine, but I didn't think that would make matters any easier. You people that do go natural are truly amazing - I always thought I was pretty tough until last week. I was so relieved to be done and finally have my sweet baby! So he is here, and we love him so much! He is such a sweet little boy, he has brought so much happiness to our home already! He is so tiny and cute - I just love to look at him! We hope you all can meet him soon!
Our family before we left to the hospital!
Right after the little boy was born
Mommy and her baby - a little immodesty!

Preston bought this hat for him at the hospital gift shop while I was in there for my blood clot...he couldn't wait for his new son to wear it!
My sweet husband, I don't think I could have done it without him!
Getting ready to leave the hospital, Mommy looks like she could use a shower!
Katelyn meeting Ty! She hasn't been all that interested in him, she will be a good helper I am sure.
This little guy can't leave the baby alone. He always wants to hold him or lay by him. He loves his new little buddy!
The new and very improved Steel Family!

Christmas Wishes

we were watching "Eloise at Christmas" the other day and Katelyn got a brilliant idea! She darted upstairs to the playroom for paper and started this project. This is her Christmas list that she has been working on - Santa is in trouble this year! She has been saving ads from the paper and copies the words of the toys she wants. Her most important are a jewelry box, american girl tree house, telescope, new clothes for her american girl doll, and a new dress. There are about 25 others that she says Santa will give her if he has time. Tate started his list, but it is just a picture of a train and train tracks!

Bad Hair Day
Well I can only hope this is the last time this will happen in our house. I know most kids do it at some time in their life, so we are done. Katelyn and Tate got a pair of KIDS scissors and played barbershop! When Katelyn came in to show me I didn't know whether to cry, yell, or laugh; I just threw them in the car and went to cookie cutters. The girl suggested a pixie cut or Kate Gosseline...ahh!! You can still totally tell on this cut, but I couldn't go for the pixie! You can't even tell on Tate's hair, but Katelyn's is a mess. It drives me nuts when I look at it, hopefully it grows out fast. She is still pretty darn cute even with crazy hair though! I think I am totally ready for another child right? Darn kids!!!

family of FIVE!!!

Well I almost 40 weeks pregnant and couldn't be happier! We are so excited for our sweet baby boy, who doesn't have a name, to join our family. I am feeling better every day and can't wait to meet the little guy on Monday. Katelyn took this awesome picture of me, it took a lot of editing!

where have we been?? whoa this is a long post!!!

The end of my pregnancy definitely hasn't gone how I had planned. I am sure most of you have heard the story by now, so feel free to skip this! About a month ago I pulled some muscle in my stomach...not sure how, but I am guessing by lifting my kid. Anyways, the pain was extreme since my baby was sitting right on top of it. It was really bad - I could barely walk and just felt so crappy. Then we went in to make sure everything was okay with the baby and we found out I had some sort of infection in my body that was making me more sick. I was put on medicine that I was allergic too turns out, but did get over the infection. Well I was out for a few weeks trying to get better and last week I started to feel a little better and then last Friday I was back to serious pain and swelling in my leg. We went in the following morning to the ER and found out that I had a huge blood clot from my belly down my leg. The doctors are guessing I got it from the muscle tear which can cause bleeding. So I stayed in the hospital for five days not really sure what to do. The original plan was to deliver the baby early, but the perionatoligist decided it would be too difficult for me to deliver a baby being so weak and in pain. And I am on blood thinner that can be dangerous alone. So we are waiting until I am better and baby is big. I am still in a lot of pain, but I can kinda walk and have a more energy. The entire thing has been so humiliating and not fun. If you know me at all, I do not like to just lay around, not get to the gym, not clean, not hang out with my family - like anyone does right!!! I hate to be sick - and never am for which I am grateful! It has been very hard for me to have to ask for help, I have serious issues with that, I really hate to feel like a burden. I am VERY aware that it could be 100 times worse than this, so I just really want to look at the positive. We have been so blessed to have my mom, sister, and sister-in-law Tonya close so the kids could be with them and really take care of us. Also, my mother-in-law was so sweet to come spend the days with the kids while I was in the hospital. Our neighbors and friends have been so great through all this and we are very grateful. Preston has been super dad and mom for a long time and I don't know what I could have done with out him. He is so exhausted I am sure and has to look at my nasty-ness! He has been so great..so thanks so much for everyone who has called, sent meals, came to visit, fasted, watched our kids or given them a ride, or even just thought about us. We are so appreciative of all of you! We hope everyone is having a great fall and hopefully the next post I do will be that healthy sweet baby #3 is here!
