Drive In = A Must Do for Family

So the other night The Steel Family went to the local drive in - that's right, they are not only a place for teenagers to make out. It was so fun! Really Truly! We saw Wall-e which was cute and the whole idea of watching in the truck outside was so great! Tate and Preston fell asleep..shocker huh! But me and Katelyn watched the whole thing and we loved it. The place was packed too...we're bringing drive-ins back!

4th of July Fun

whoa, this is way late. I am posting somewhat for my benefit so I can remember what went on. I love the fourth and love to hit up a good small town parade, this year was the good ole Riverdale. Katelyn and I made the bags the night before and she was very proud of them. We did some swimming in the afternoon and my sister always has a fun little party with food and fireworks which we always look forward to. And back at home it was so fun because we could see about 6 city firework shows from our house! Love it!

Tagged...Memories!

I thought this was a fun game from Kaesy and Rachael, everyone who reads this awesome blog should play! I have been out of the blogging game for a while, hopefully soon I will get with it. And yea, we are in our house!

The rules:
1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

Tate Tagged by Taeya!

Here are 10 very special things about Mr. Tate! Bear with me!
1. Well this kid likes the food. He especially likes to eat with people or off people's plates. He often wakes up with my dad and eats his breakfast, then he goes back to sleep and has another breakfast. He pretty much likes everything. He is very disappointed when someone is eating and he is not.
2. He is well known for his large massive hands and feet. Seriously, that is always the first thing people say about him. They really are very big. His uncle refers to him as "meat hooks" due to this trait. He is very manly!

3. He loves Princess Shoes, I need to stop putting him in pink sweatshirts, and letting him prance around in these right. For some reason it just doesn't look right for his big feet to be in the dainties.
4. He is always outside. As soon as he wakes he wants to be outside doing something. His hair is platinum blond and his skin is brown as soon as it is kinda warm outside. He especially loves the tramp, Bball, and slide, and eating food and diet coke on a little patio table.
5. He is a sweet cuddler. Ever since he was a baby he has always been cuddly. Katelyn was not at all, but I love it.
6. He loves Katelyn. He will just follow her around for hours and do exactly what she does. He loves to tackle her and lay on her and pretty much do everything with her. They are good little friends most of the time.

7. He likes to dive or jump off of things. Heights do not frighten this child at all. He just kinda leaps off tables, rocks, curbs, chairs, etc.

8. In the car, if you hit any bump or dip he softly and highly says "woohoo". He also says "tractor", "truck", or "choo-choo" in his unusually deep voice.
9. He is wild and crazy! He seriously does the strangest, adverturist, and crazy things. He is not very open to strangers. People that know him well are the only ones who see the TRUE TATE! I should also add that he is abnormally STRONG. If he wants to take you down, he will. And one story to touch on this is one day at Walmart with my sister and kids we look over and Tate is picking up and carrying a 12 pack of diet coke. Gabe, who is 7 and tough, ran to help him and could barely lift it.
10. He is so Happy! Really just a happy go lucky kind of guy. He is so pleasant and has so much love to share with his family. He always welcomes people home with a smile, a hug, and an open mouth kiss. We have been very lucky to just have happy loving children, hopefully number three is the same.

We love our little guy so much. He keeps us busy for sure, but he is so fun to be around. We wouldn't take him any other way.

Tate tags Sophie, Zoee, Brielle, Grace, Wade, Mason, Sadie, well let's just go with anyone and everyone who wants to tell us about their kid!

Cute Hair for Your Girlies

Jessi, my cousin-in-law's wife, is that proper, has started a new blog with cute ideas on how to do little girl's hair. I am such a dork about this kinda stuff, this is why we have "the bob", which I love, but would really like to learn how to do the fancy stuff. I have tried a few of them and they really weren't that hard and coming from me, that means anyone can do it. Her cute little Adde is her model and she is a trooper. Check it out here.

Panter has a blog!

So I just wanted to give a shout out to one of my bestest friends Ashley Schiffman. She has just started a family blog and I am so excited. For some reason me and my family still consider her name to be Ashley Panter and Katelyn sometimes calls me Ashy Panter Steel. She thinks it is SO funny. And Tad has been building our house for us so Preston and him are pretty much best buds. I am excited to be able to keep up with her more. I would put some embarrassing picture with this post, and I have many Ash, but think she might kill me.

Happy Father's Day

Well we had a fun weekend while our husbands were away. Preston was AGAIN working on the house for the last weekend. Hallelujah! So Jaime thought it would be fun to be IN the Uintah City Parade. Well I can at least say I got a workout with it. Tate would not cooperate because he saw llamas or alapas or something, Katelyn hurt her foot like 2 minutes in to it and it was hot! I think next year we will be spectators. Jaime's kids were cute and had fun in it and our bikes were cute. At night we hit our first firework show of the summer and it was not a let down. Uintah sure puts on a good show.
And of course..Father's Day!! Father's Day really helps me remember how blessed we are to have such wonderful Fathers in our lives. My sweet husband is the most amazing father, you can't get a better dad than my dad, and my wonderful father-in-law is truly the best guy in the world. We are so grateful for these loving men and hope you had a great day. Preston had to give a talk in church today..BOO! He did so fabulous, but still BOO!

Preston's 30th Birthday!!!

Preston turned the big 3-0 a few days ago. For gifts we just got him a few shirts, shoes, golf club. We also made him a memory book, which of course didn't get here in time...Aaaa! I did have a little party for him on Friday at a park. I am not a great party planner so I thought the park would be a good option. Well besides the freezing Utah (June?) weather, it was great fun. Luckily the rain stopped! It was so nice of everyone to come and celebrate with us. Preston's mom and dad even surprised us with attending. So Happy Birthday to my sweet wonderful husband - love you!
Here is the invite I made for the party - isn't he the cutest kid ever!
Also, yesterday after Preston finished working on the house we went to Lagoon for a few hours. We have season passes so we wanted to try it out for the first time of the season. And it did not disappoint. Katelyn was in heaven. We think Tate liked it. He had this dead stare on his face while riding, we didn't know if he was in shock or going to lose his dinner. When they came to a stop he DID NOT want to get off. So I think that is a sure sign he enjoyed it too. We look forward to many days at Lagoon. And Yes, Tate is wearing a pink girls sweat shirt. I for some reason put two girl sweaters in the car instead of bringing his.

Past Happenings

This past week was a busy one for us. Our house is finishing up and we couldn't be more stoked. We are hoping we will be in within a couple weeks. Hooray!! We have been really busy wrapping things up and getting things done of course, so we haven't had much free time. Preston has been gone pretty much every night. Yesterday he built these awesome garden boxes - we can't wait to start planting. I took some random pictures yesterday..more to come! I also turned the ripe old age of 26! Very exciting I know. I am not a huge birthday lover, but it is so fun to hear from all my good thoughtful friends and family. Also, Tate got tubes put in his ears. It was a very nerve-racking day for me. He couldn't eat all morning, but luckily he slept in. I was expecting a much more terrifying experience for us, but it was not too bad. After about 45 minutes they came and got us and I was just so excited to hold him and he wouldn't let go either. After a few hours he was great! No pain, no grumpies, nothing! Tough little guy, we love him!
